From an early age, creating music has been a huge part of my life.

Starting as a trumpet player in elementary school, music defined my childhood and teen years. I continued as a trumpet player through college, playing lead trumpet in symphonic, jazz, and marching bands. I also took piano lessons, which gave me the foundation to create my own music and majored in music theory in college.

I began writing songs in high school; songs that will hopefully never see the light of day again! Over the next twenty years, I’d play trumpet and keyboards in numerous jazz and rock bands. In 2003, I became the organist at Armourdale Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS. I had no formal organ training, but I had grown up in that church and they needed an organist, so I agreed to take the position. I stayed there for the next 10 years, often filling in as pianist and occasionally as drummer and frequently performing original compositions, some of which were trumpet instrumentals and some contemporary Christian songs I’d written.

From 2012-14, I led worship at Hosanna Christian Church, a new bilingual church.  During 2013-2014, I also played trumpet and piano at Independence Boulevard Christian Church, which also hosts Hosanna.

These days, I’m concentrating on writing and recording my original songs and helping produce music for other artists.

As a listener, I’ve long been of fan of progressive rock, but over the years I’ve learned to appreciate music in all genres. My favorite bands include Genesis, Yes, Echolyn, Spock’s Beard, and The Mars Volta.
